Resume Roaster — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-04

The short version

What we process

Data Where it goes Retention
Resume/job-description text you paste or upload Our backend → Anthropic's Claude API (our AI provider) to generate the result Transient — not persisted by us after the response; not used for AI training
Roast results (grade, score, critique) Returned to your device; stored locally on your device only Until you delete them
Application tracker entries Your device only Until you delete them
Pseudonymous request metadata (a hashed device id, timings, token counts, error codes) Our server logs, to keep the service working and prevent abuse Short-lived operational logs; never includes resume content
Purchase state Apple + RevenueCat (our payments processor) Per their policies

Personal details inside your resume

We do not ask you for your name, email, address, or an account — the app has none. But the resume and job-description text you choose to send commonly contains personal details (your name, email, phone, employers, dates). That text is transmitted to our AI provider to generate your result, processed transiently, and not stored on our servers after the response. It is not used to train AI models. We never separately extract, index, or retain those fields, and we do not build a profile from them.

What we don't collect

Location; contacts; advertising or tracking identifiers; any account or login. The only identifier we use is a per-install device id, which we hash before it reaches our logs (pseudonymous, not tied to your real identity).

Payments

Purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive an anonymous entitlement status ("pro"), never your payment details.

AI disclaimer

Roasts are AI-generated opinions for entertainment and self-improvement — not professional career advice, and occasionally wrong.
